Principals

Charles MOK, Director

Charles brings over 20 years of technology, management and consulting experience in IT, Internet and new media to Computancy. He co-founded HKNet, one of Hong Kong’s earliest Internet service providers, which was acquired by NTT Communications of Japan. Previously, he also worked for multinational IT corporations such as Digital Equipment Corp and Sun  Microsystems in the United States, and was Chief Technology Advisor for Compaq Computer in Taiwan. Charles is also an active in advocating for IT and other public policies, and is currently the Chairman of Internet Society Hong Kong. He is also appointed by the Hong Kong SAR Government as a member of the Hospital Authority and West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Consultation Panel. A graduate from Purdue University (USA) with bachelor and master degrees in Electrical Engineering, Charles is also a columnist for a number of publications including Apple Daily and Hong Kong Economic Journal.


Ho-Ming BUT, Director

Ho-Ming is a founding director of Computancy, with more than 20 years of senior level telecommunications management and engineering consulting experience with leading global firms. He was also a former assistant professor with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Currently, he also manages Robot Sapience Limited, which develops and offers robotic training programs to over 40 schools in Hong Kong. Ho-ming is also a former member of the Advisory Board of the School of Business of the City University of Hong Kong, and a founding member of Green Produce, a leading non-profit organization promoting organic farming. Ho-ming previously graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the London School of Economics and Political Science, and was a British Council Scholar.

Consultants

Christine HUNG

Christine is a branding consultant with over 16 years of experience. Previously she was the general manager of A-World Consulting, a leading public affairs consultancy, and the partner of a total-branding agency. She began her professional branding career with McCann Erickson and Ogilvy & Mather, with special focus on China market, and then joined Pepsi before moving to Hang Seng Bank to oversee corporate identity and public affairs. Christine is also a part-time lecturer on branding at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a columnist. She owns a branding column in CUP Magazine, and is an editor and writer of a current affairs column for Hong Kong Economic Journal. She frequently speaks on branding for universities, political parties, professional organizations and government departments in Hong Kong and mainland China. Christine graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Sang YOUNG

Sang has worked in IT industry for more than 17 years. He specializes in the area of infrastructure and information security. He has participated the implementation of leading-edge IT technologies and infrastructure projects which include information security, network and system management, storage, web & Internet architecture and networking solutions for enterprises and service providers. Prior to that, he was one of the application developers to develop the first client-server application inside a leading bank. He is also a part-time trainer in IT and information security. He was also a founding member and former Chairperson of the Professional Information Security Association.
